ISA International, Normanton.
This company
was moving into a prestigious new warehouse on the Wakefield Europort
Industrial Estate. They asked M&B to find a solution to effectively
manage their waste efficiently. This had to be done ensuring the
installation was commensurate with its surroundings.

|
M&B designed
and built a waste handling system which maximised efficiency in
all areas, and was aesthetically pleasing in dealing with waste
streams generated. At the same time maximising recycling opportunity
as ISA is a very environmentally conscious company. As well as achieving
all this we had to ensure operatives were protected from the elements.
We supplied
this customer with 2 dock loading compactors, 1 for general waste
and the other for cardboard. This facility is also totally enclosed
to prevent heat loss from inside the building.

Working
with our consulting engineers an air extraction system was designed
to collect the material to be fed into compaction equipment located
outside the factory. The system was designed to allow for expansion
as more equipment was planned for their processing operation. We also
added a dust plant, and heat regeneration system to complement the
extraction equipment. The heat regeneration equipment reduced heating
cost throughout the winter period by recycling the warm extracted
air back into the factory. The utilisation of air extraction improved
operational efficiency, and reduced almost totally operator input.
The compaction equipment has ensured maximisation of material collected
thereby reducing transport movement and costs.
Testimonial:
- "During the many years that Hammond Bindery has used the
services of M&B they have become an integral part of our company
development as a result of their support and superb service. Even
during the periods of peak workload the service from M&B is
unfailing. Such service is hard to come by in this day and age and
relationships with companies that are able to provide this should
be valued as we value our relationship with M&B."

Hammond Binders, Wakefield.
This company
had a manual system for collecting from numerous print finishing
process equipment within their factory. A lot of this material was
offcuts, trim and small fraction paper waste. As the print finishing
machines were placed at different points in the factory a multi-point
collection system was required.
This customer
has an extraction system supplied for the printer's waste they produce,
along with 2 compactors with automatic change over for 24hr-shift
working. This demonstrates the very specialist nature of their requirements
and how M&B have fulfilled all their needs.
